Sue Perkins revealed as guest judge on Interior Design Masters

Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr is back on our screens with a new group of novice designers battling it out for their big break. Each week, presenter Alan Carr and design expert Michelle Ogundehin are joined by a guest judge and ahead of Thursday’s (1st May) episode, it has been confirmed that Sue Perkins will be appearing on the hit BBC show.

In a post on Instagram, Interior Design Masters wrote: “A new episode, a new challenge… and a new judge! This week’s guest judge is none other than the brilliant Sue Perkins @realsueperkins – comedian, writer, presenter, @battersea ambassador and now interior design critic for the day! Can they charm her with their interiors?”

During the series, the contestants must work as a team or individually to transform a commercial space with innovative interior design. A second post shared by the TV show revealed that this week, the contestants will be visiting Battersea Dogs & Cats Home where they will be tasked with creating a “pet-friendly design to get Battersea’s rescue dogs used to a home environment”.

Perkins, who is an ambassador for Battersea, has been a close supporter of the charity for over nine years. She follows previous guest judges, furniture designer Sue Timney, designer Max McMurdo and TV star Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen.

Last week, the contestants were tasked with transforming upmarket retirement apartments. Duo Briony and Craig won Standout Space for their thoughtful and charming space.

We can’t wait to see how the contestants get on this week!

Interior Design Masters with Alan Carr will air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 8pm on Thursdays.
