The flight was forced to divert to Barcelona
A Jet2 flight from Manchester Airport was forced to divert due to “disruptive passengers”. The Jet2 flight LS881 from Manchester to Alicante had set off when passengers became disruptive forcing the plane to divert to Barcelona on Friday, April 25.
The flight was scheduled to depart Manchester Airport at 5.10pm before setting off at 5.48pm, according to FlightRadar, before it was forced to divert to Barcelona as it arrived over Spain.
It circled over Barcelona before eventually landing shortly after 7pm. It remained in the city’s airport for close to four hours before departing and arriving at Alicante for 11.43pm.
A Jet2 spokesperson told the Manchester Evening News: “Flight LS881 diverted to Barcelona so that police could offload some disruptive passengers.
“The aircraft continued to its destination after a delay.
“As a family friendly airline, we take a zero-tolerance approach to disruptive behaviour.”
