Tuesday’s Women’s Euros predictions
Eight-time winners Germany opened their 2025 Euros campaign with a 2-0 victory over Poland and they should have no issue in following up against Denmark in Basel.
That success over the Poles may seem solid if not spectacular on the surface but they won the expected-goals battle 3.29-1.03, suggesting that the performance was more dominant than the scoreline would have you believe.
The victory also extended Germany’s winning streak to six and, impressively, each of the wins in that run have come by at least two goals.
A tournament-ending injury to captain Giulia Gwinn was the sole blemish on an otherwise perfect opening day, but even her absence is unlikely to be enough for Denmark to pull off a shock.
The Danes have lost three of their last four matches, conceding ten times in that miserable run, and may struggle to get anywhere near Germany at St Jakob-Park.

Many expected Poland to struggle in Group B and a defeat to Sweden would likely spell an early exit and prove those doubters right.
That seems a likely outcome given the Swedes are on a sensational 13-match unbeaten run which includes three victories over Denmark, a 2-0 win against Norway and a 0-0 draw with England.
A 1-0 victory over the Danes last time was perhaps not the result the potential dark horses were hoping for in their opener but it really could have been more as chief playmaker Johanna Kaneryd created four big chances for her teammates.
The Chelsea star provided both assists in Sweden’s final warm-up game against Norway and another two in the match before, suggesting her first of the tournament may not be far away should her teammates find their shooting boots when facing a weak Poland side.
