The UFC Hall of Fame class of 2025 is locked in.
Over the last few months, we’ve seen UFC legend after legend get announced for this summer’s hall of fame class.
Former two-division champion Amanda Nunes, Vitor Belfort and Robbie Lawler are among the fighters to be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame at International Fight Week as well as Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum for their ‘fight of the year’ in 2019.
The final member of the UFC Hall of Fame was announced on the UFC 316 broadcast.
Mark Kerr announced for UFC Hall of Fame
On Saturday, the premier promotion announced that two-time heavyweight tournament champion Mark Kerr would be inducted into the hall of fame in a matter of weeks.
An MMA pioneer and legend of Pride FC, Kerr went undefeated in the UFC. Kerr won back-to-back one-night tournaments at UFC 14 and UFC 15 where he won all four of his fights by finish.
Kerr began his MMA career at a perfect 11-0 and was nicknamed ‘The Smashing Machine’ for his tenacious fighting style.
Kerr, 56, reacted to his UFC Hall of Fame announcement from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, surrounded by fans and fighters at UFC 316.
Mark Kerr’s story will be retold in ‘The Smashing Machine’ movie
Kerr recently made headlines as A24 is set to release a biopic about his legendary MMA career with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson starring as the retired fighter.
‘The Smashing Machine’, titled after Kerr’s nickname, follows the story of Kerr through the UFC and Pride FC, his opioid addiction and a rocky relationship with his girlfriend, played by actress Emily Blunt.
Notables in combat sports make an appearance in the upcoming film such as boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, who stars as Kerr’s Ukrainian rival Igor Vovchanchyn, and Ryan Bader, who stars as Kerr’s best friend Mark Coleman.
‘The Smashing Machine’ is set to be released in theaters on Oct. 3, 2025.
