Fiji vs Scotland predictions
Fiji and Scotland both enjoyed positive performances in their opening games of the summer last week, and although Scotland have made wholesale changes to their line-up, they look the value bet as outsiders to at least go close in Suva.
The Fijians were beaten 21-18 by Australia last week thanks to a last-minute try from Wallaby captain Harry Wilson, and they have made just two changes to their side.
Scotland coach Gregor Townsend admitted there was an “element of risk” in his decision to make 14 changes from the team that edged the New Zealand Maori 29-26 last week, including a first cap for Saracens fly-half Fergus Burke.
But there is still plenty of experience and physicality in the side and Burke has shown himself to be a solid operator in the Premiership this season.
Scotland beat a depleted Fiji side 57-17 when they met at Murrayfield in November, but hot and humid conditions will be against them on Saturday and the roles are reversed as the Scots are the ones who are under-strength.
Nevertheless, it’s another big test for the hosts and Scotland have the players to keep this close.
