A day after it overtook director Ridley Scott’s landmark original Gladiator film at the global box office, Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning has surpassed perhaps the most memorable movie that director Zack Snyder has ever made. It’s certainly the film that launched his career, establishing him as a specialist in the comic book genre. Released in 2006, Snyder’s 300 concluded its global box office run with nearly $455 million, a figure that The Final Reckoning has surpassed in 20 days of release.
That being said, the action epic’s reported budget of $400 million puts it in a difficult spot.
