Martin Zubimendi’s move to Arsenal stalls, Vinicius Junior to extend Real Madrid contract – Euro Transfer News

Zubimendi’s move to Arsenal delayed by Madrid interest

Spanish outlet Marca have reported that Martin Zubimendi’s move to Arsenal has stalled amid interest from Real Madrid.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a while now, but the article suggests that The Gunners are becoming increasingly concerned.

Zubimendi made 36 league appearances for Real Sociedad last season, scoring two goals and registering two assists.

“A definitive yes has yet to come, and concerns are starting to appear at The Emirates.

“The Real Sociedad midfielder and even the president himself, Jokin Aperribay, spoke of a few days of meditation and reflection before making the final move.

“And that’s exactly what the current Spanish national team starter in the central midfield position has done.

“The truth is that everything seemed set in stone, but the outlook has changed in recent hours with the emergence of Real Madrid on the scene, as MARCA has learned.

“The move indicates a real interest in the player, a desire by the club’s coaches and directors to enlist the midfielder as a reinforcement for next season.”

Vinicius Junior to extend Real Madrid contract

More reports in Spain, via Diario AS, claim that Vinicius Junior will sign a new contract with Real Madrid.

The fresh deal will see him remain at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2030. The Brazilian forward joined Los Blancos in July 2018.

He scored 11 goals and registered 10 assists as the Spanish giants settled for second place in La Liga last term.

“Vinicius (24 years old) will extend his contract with the club until 2030, three years longer than his current contract,” reads the article.

“The Brazilian will earn €100 million over the next five years.

“An average of €20 million net per season, €5 million more than his current salary, although the salary will not be distributed linearly.

“In other words, he will start earning less than €20 million next season and will gradually increase year after year until reaching €100 million.”

Brighton agree fee to sign Coppola

Coppola made 34 appearances for Hellas Verona last term, helping them to a 14th-place finish in Serie A.

“Brighton agree deal to sign Diego Coppola as new centre back, here we go,” Romano wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

“€10m plus add-ons to Hellas Verona for Italian defender, waiting for medical and contract signing next.

“Coppola has agreed to the move, deal in place as first revealed in May.”

Hojlund rules out Inter Milan move

Rasmus Hojlund has ruled out a move away from Manchester United following reports linking him with a move to UEFA Champions League finalists Inter Milan.

Hojlund has struggled to adapt to life at Old Trafford and was only able to find the back of the net four times in 32 Premier League appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.

United have been active in the transfer market so far this summer, signing Wolves forward Matheus Cunha and being linked with Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.

“‘I have a contract until 2030, so I expect to play for Manchester United,” told Danish news outlet Ekstra Bladet.

“I’m looking forward to going on a summer vacation, and then I’m fully dedicated to the project that’s underway.”
