- CPB funding comprises nearly 40% of KHNS’s budget. Losing it would jeopardize our ability to continue serving the Upper Lynn Canal.
- Rural stations (like those found throughout Alaska) are especially dependent on CPB funding due to the lack of alternative funding resources in remote areas.
- Local stations are uniquely situated to foster a sense of community identity and share information during extreme weather events.
- KHNS is the only locally-based station providing news, emergency alerts and community information to the Upper Lynn Canal.
