As the Mirror reports, Las Vegas locals posting on social media have outlined fears that there is an “active shooter situation” unfolding in the city.

Cops have “closed the strip” as they deal with the ongoing emergency.

Las Vegas Metro police have confirmed a shooting took place in the 3600 block of South Las Vegas Boulevard.

They have asked people to avoid the area, saying: “We are responding to a shooting in the 3600 block of S. Las Vegas Boulevard. The shooting did not occur inside a casino. Please avoid the area.”

One person posted online: “Active shooter situation on Las Vegas Strip. Heavy police and rescue on scene. Situation seems to be under control. No more shots fired.”

A video posted on X shows panicked crowds running from the scene with dozens of police cars racing by in the opposite direction.

Another sickening video has emerged online which shows the moment the incident began during a YouTube livestream.

In the clip, which the Record has chosen not to show due its graphic nature. A man can be seen opening fire on people as screams are heard and panic breaks out.

Rounds of bullets can be heard going off in the terrifying footage. It is unknown if there are any casualties.
