Eurovision 2025 Semi-Finals – How to watch on TV and BBC iPlayer and listen on Radio and BBC Sounds


Ahead of the Eurovision Grand Final on Saturday 17 May, where 26 countries will perform to be crowned the new Eurovision 2025 champion, there are two live Semi-Finals for Eurovision fans to review all 37 countries competing in the Eurovision Song Contest.

The top ten countries from each Semi-Final will make it through to Saturday’s Grand Final.

As one of the Big Five countries (United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, France, Italy), the United Kingdom has a guaranteed place in Saturday’s Grand Final and host country Switzerland is also guaranteed a place in the Grand Final thanks to Nemo’s victory in 2024.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Semi-Finals.

When are the Eurovision 2025 Semi-Finals and which countries are competing?

The Eurovision 2025 Semi-Finals take place on Tuesday 13 and Thursday 15 May 2025.

Eurovision 2025 First Semi-Final

The first Semi-Final was on Tuesday 13 May and here’s how it went:

1. Iceland: VÆB – RÓA – Qualified for Grand Final

2. Poland: Justyna Steczkowska – GAJA – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

3. Slovenia: Klemen – How Much Time Do We Have Left

4. Estonia: Tommy Cash – Espresso Macchiato – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

Spain: Melody – ESA DIVA

5. Ukraine: Ziferblat – Bird of Pray – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

6. Sweden: KAJ – Bara Bada Bastu – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

7. Portugal: NAPA – Deslocado – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

8. Norway: Kyle Alessandro – Lighter – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

9. Belgium: Red Sebastian – Strobe Lights

Italy: Lucio Corsi – Volevo Essere Un Duro

10. Azerbaijan: Mamagama – Run With U

11. San Marino: Gabry Ponte – Tutta L’Italia – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

12. Albania: Shkodra Elektronike – Zjerm

13. Netherlands: Claude – C’est La Vie – Qualified for Eurovision Grand Final

Switzerland: Zoë Më – Voyage

Italy, Spain and Switzerland automatically qualify for the Grand Final and audiences in these countries will be able to vote during this Semi-Final.

Eurovision 2025 Second Semi-Final

The second Semi-Final will be on iPlayer and BBC One, Radio 2 and BBC Sounds from 8pm on Thursday 15 May and this is the running order:

2. Montenegro: Nina Žižić – Dobrodošli

3. Ireland: EMMY – Laika Party

4. Latvia: Tautumeitas – Bur Man Laimi

5. Armenia: PARG – SURVIVOR

6. Austria: JJ – Wasted Love

United Kingdom: Remember Monday – What The Hell Just Happened?

7. Greece: Klavdia – Asteromáta

8. Lithuania: Katarsis – Tavo Akys

9. Malta: Miriana Conte – SERVING

10. Georgia: Mariam Shengelia – Freedom

France: Louane – maman

11. Denmark: Sissal – Hallucination

12. Czechia: ADONXS – Kiss Kiss Goodbye

13. Luxembourg: Laura Thorn – La Poupée Monte Le Son

14. Israel: Yuval Raphael – New Day Will Rise

France, Germany and the United Kingdom automatically qualify for the Grand Final and audiences in these countries will be able to vote during this Semi-Final.

Viewers will also be treated to the first performance on the Eurovision stage from UK representatives, Remember Monday, singing What The Hell Just Happened?

The Semi-Finals will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm, featuring commentary by Eurovision experts, Rylan and Scott Mills, with Sara Cox and Richie Anderson helming proceedings on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.

Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker and Sandra Studer are your hosts for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025. All three will present the Grand Final, while Hazel Brugger and Sandra Studer will also host the Semi-Finals.

Brugger is an award-winning stand-up comedian and presenter. Born in the USA, she grew up near Zurich and now lives in the Darmstadt region of Germany. Hunziker grew up in Ostermundigen near Bern and is one of Switzerland’s best-known international personalities. Studer started her career in 1991 as Switzerland’s Eurovision Song Contest participant. Performing with the stage name Sandra Simó, she secured 5th place with the song Canzone Per Te.
