Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell is doubtful to return to Game 4 against the Indiana Pacers due to an ankle injury, via ESPN’s Jamal Collier.
The Cavaliers trailed by 41 points at halftime.
Ty Jerome started the second half in place of Mitchell, who remained in the locker room after the break.
Jerome stepped in to start the second half after Mitchell was absent from both the court and the bench after halftime.
Mitchell appeared to tweak his ankle while warming up for the third quarter, taking an awkward step near the top of the arc before doubling over in discomfort with his hands on his knees.
The 28-year-old finished the first half with 12 points on 3-of-11 shooting, along with one steal and one block.
A return from Mitchell seemed unlikely after the Cavaliers turned in a historically poor first half, trailing 80-39 at the break. Cleveland managed just 16 points in the second quarter and was outscored by 26 in the frame.
Once Game 4 concludes, the series will shift back to Cleveland. Game 5 will be played on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. ET.
