The worries of a relegation battle midway through the English Premier League season have long been extinguished by Wolves who continued their excellent form over the weekend with a 3-0 victory over hapless Leicester City. Two of Wolves’ African internationals, Algeria’s Rayan Aït-Nouri and Ivorian defender Emmanuel Agbadou, were recognized for their contributions.

Aït-Nouri continues to be an icon of relentless running and attacking while alternating between playing left back and a more advanced wing-back role. Squawka highlighted Aït-Nouri’s contributions in both attack and defense, citing the Algeria national team player for “four take-ons completed, seven touches in the opposition box and one intentional assist.” Aït-Nouri is enjoying a career-best season with four goals and seven assists in league play.
Agbadou has been a revelation and is proving to be more than worth the €20 million Wolves paid in the last transfer window for the Ivorian to boost their defense. The 27-year-old former Stade de Reims star collected five clearances, eight ball recoveries and two tackles won.
Wolves have now won six consecutive matches and are 13th on the table, twenty points outside the drop zone. Ipswich Town were the latest team confirmed to drop to the second tier EFL Championship alongside Leicester and Southampton in an unexciting relegation battle this season that is already decided with four matches remaining.
Agbadou and Aït-Nouri figure to play a big part next season for Wolves who look like they can dream of competing for a place in UEFA club competition if they continue their form into next season.
