Rayan Ait-Nouri has enjoyed another good season at Wolves – but one update on the player may have some fans a little worried.
Rayan Ait-Nouri started the season in poor form, and was criticised for his defending and positioning as Wolves really struggled under Gary O’Neil.
But one thing that has never been in question is Ait-Nouri’s attacking potential.
He was still a threat under O’Neil, and now he’s an even bigger one under Vitor Pereira.
As things currently stand, Ait-Nouri has made the most goal contributions of any defender in the Premier League with 11.
We know that heading into the summer, Ait-Nouri has clubs looking at him.
And one report has suggested something that is quite ominous.
Wolves feel Rayan Ait-Nouri has earned the right to move on to a bigger club
Sky Sports have shed a bit of light on how Wolves currently feel about Ait-Nouri with regards to what will happen with him this summer.
Ait-Nouri has really impressed again, and some are wondering if this could be his final season at Molineux.
We know that Matheus Cunha is highly likely to leave. But some have been theorised who could follow the Brazilian out. As we have seen over the last few summer windows, there have been multiple big-money sales.
Sky claim that Wolves now feel that Ait-Nouri has earned the chance to join a top club in the Premier League. It’s mentioned that Liverpool are keen.
In what is an ominous update, Sky say Wolves will not stand in Ait-Nouri’s way if a suitable offer comes in.
Why there’s a good chance Ait-Nouri will leave Wolves
Realistically, there is at least a decent chance Ait-Nouri – who Troy Deeney feels is ‘playing for a move’ away – will leave Wolves this summer.
It just feels like he has now spent ‘enough’ time at Molineux and he’s done very well, so this stance from Wolves is understandable.
Ait-Nouri is potentially now at peak value in relation to the number of years left on his contract (until 2026, with option to extend).
It would be no surprise if Fosun urged a sale.
That would be a shame, and Wolves’ left side would be considerably weaker if he did leave as well as Cunha.
But Wolves do already have one potential replacement with Hugo Bueno, who has impressed on loan at Feyenoord.
