Shaun Murphy says he will be having words with Kyren Wilson after the latest development in the ongoing feud between the pair, which sparked into life at the 2025 Masters in January.
And one day before the action gets underway for the World Snooker Championship at the Crucible – live on TNT Sports and discovery+ – Wilson lifted the lid on the much-talked-about exchange.
And this time, a seemingly baffled Murphy did not hold back when he was once again questioned about the tension between the pair at Alexandra Palace.
“Sat here, recording this with you now [on Friday afternoon], I’ve got absolutely no idea what Kyren Wilson’s talking about. None, no idea at all.

“I genuinely have no idea. We regrouped in the dressing room following the first session, we got changed, we went off into the car park, I ended up filling my car with washer fluid – that’s how rock and roll we are – came back to the venue, got ready, and went to get ready to play the match.
“I’ve got no idea what Kyren’s talking about. I’ve obviously been asked about it all day today, we’ve had the media day today in Sheffield, it’s the first thing the journalists were asking and rightly so.
“I must admit, I’m extremely disappointed in the behaviour of Kyren Wilson. I think he’s had a really good year as world vhampion on and off the table.
“But I am extremely disappointed in him as a bloke, that if he’s got something he has wanted to say to me since January and he’s left it until this week to say it, and not only has he come out and said it but said half a story, or not even half a story, he hasn’t had the bottle to call me out over whatever it is, and he’s left everybody guessing.
“He had the nerve to call me unprofessional and call my reputation into question. How dare he do that? I’m very disappointed in his behaviour and when I see him face-to-face, I’ll be telling him, because that’s not how I operate and that’s not how real people operate.
“I’m very, very disappointed in his behaviour.”
Wilson gets his World Championship title defence underway against Lei Peifan on Saturday – live on TNT Sports and discovery+ – before Murphy takes to the baize to play Daniel Wells.
The pair have been drawn on opposite sides of the draw, which means we could see a tasty rematch between the pair for the world title.
