Gabriela Fundora retained her women’s undisputed flyweight title with a seventh-round TKO win over Marilyn Badillo on Saturday night at the Frontwave Arena in Oceanside, California.

Fundora (16-0, 8 KOs), Uncrowned’s No. 5 female pound-for-pound boxer and boxing’s youngest ever undisputed champion in the four-belt era, was controlling the action at the time of the stoppage. Badillo (19-1-1, 3 KOs) managed to give Fundora some problems in the early rounds with her head movement, but as Badillo’s movement slowed, Fundora started landing her power punches with increasing frequency.

Fundora hurt Badillo badly in the sixth round with several hard left hands, and afterward the undisputed champion was told in the corner by her father and trainer, Freddy Fundora, to go for the finish in the seventh.

She did just that.

Fundora backed Badillo up with a flurry early in the seventh round and then connected with thudding shots from both hands. Badillo ate a pair of left hands with 30 seconds remaining in the deciding round, forcing her to take a knee. Although Badillo rose to her feet, referee Rudy Barragan decided to stop the bout.
